Rountree Hon. William Parry Rountree, familiary known as Uncle Pete Rountree; was born in the pioneer days in Emanuel County, Georgia, April 25, 1839. His life was the finest type of Christian citizenship, He was loyal to Christ and to the Kingdom. He was a man of great faith as well as a plan of good works. It may be said of him that he grew old eagerly in triumph; a veteran saint whose life by years of experience in God's guiding grace was ripe and full of wisdom; whose life the mellow richness of age had sweetened as a heritage of righteousness to bless the world.
Of him we confidently
quote; "Blessed are dead who die in the Lord; yea, saith, the spirit, that
they may rest from their labors and their works do follow them, in heaven he
wears the crown of righteousness, which his Lord and Master laid up for
him." 5th Georgia Cavalry
